Xcaret Eco Park

The Xcaret Eco-Archeological Park will take you on a journey through Mexico with all its fun-filled attractions. It’s a cultural experience with lots of sites to see.

Visit Hacienda Henequenera where you’re transported to the 19th century with its architecture. The Museum of Mexican Folk Art is also a must-see. Introduce your kids to the exquisite artworks and handicrafts of the country.

Head to the Butterfly Pavilion and the Aviary where you can spot all kinds of butterflies and exotic birds. Get close and intimate with their regional fauna by checking out the turtles, bat cave and deer shelter. Experience a close encounter with the jaguars and pumas in Jaguar Island for a wilder experience.

Chichen Itza

Visiting Chichen Itza is an ultimate Cancun tourist experience. It’s also a great place to introduce your kids the history of the Maya people and just how advance they all were in their time.

Be amazed by the ruins of the Kukulcan Pyramid which is the highlight of Chichen Itza. See the famous jaguar throne that was discovered by an excavation. Take all that scenery and history all in. By the time the tour is over, your kids might develop an exciting taste for archeology.

Xcaret isn’t just known for its land activities. This friendly amusement park also houses fun water activities for your little ones.

Swim with other marine species in a safe and controlled area. Interact with the stingrays and observe them in their natural habitat. Your kids will surely enjoy their time underwater with this experience.

Swim with Dolphins

Children ticket details: Most dolphin encounter attractions are for all ages. But do check with each park for confirmation on free admission for toddlers or other ticket prices.

Swimming with dolphins is a magical experience. These water mammals are smart and adorable. Interacting with them is a popular activity in Cancun that your kids will keep close to their hearts as they grow.

There are several parks where you can sign up for this dolphin experience. Here are some places you may want to visit:

  • Dolphin Discovery (20 minutes ferry ride from Cancun)
  • Dolphinaris (located next to Ventura Park Cancun)
  • Delphinus Punta Cancun (Xcaret Park)

Cancun Underwater Museum

Children Ticket Details: This attraction is only for 10 years old and above.

Take a dive into Cancun’s popular underwater museum in Aquaworld. Explore the different sculptures set underwater as Cancun’s way of protecting and growing coral reefs. Statues displayed underwater have holes in them to keep marine life growing in and around it, preserving their natural habitat. Kids will have a grand time admiring this museum.

Viyahe tip: Sign the kids up for the Discover Scuba Course! The kids must have an official diving certification to see the underwater museum, after all.


Xplor Zip Lines

Hours: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (closed on Sundays)
Children ticket details: Minimum recommended age is 5 years old. Check out their website for ticket details and discounts online.

Zip line through Cancun at Xplor. Here you can see the jungle at its majestic view, jump into a cenote and pass through waterfalls. The tallest in Cancun and Riviera Maya, the zip line is a 2.4 mile ride that’s safe and fun for your kids.

Viyahe tip: Don’t promise this adventure to your child just yet. Xplor ensures every visitor’s safety. In the occasion that their harness does not fit a child properly, they will not allow the kid to do the activity.

Take your kids on the Skyrider at Aquaworld and chill out as you fly! Parasailing in Cancun is a breezy experience and a way to see the blue waters stretch out on end.

There are two locations to participate: the lagoon side and the ocean side. For the lagoon side, a minimum age of 5 years old is allowed to fly. Passengers younger than 5 years old are only allowed on the boat and are free of charge. For the ocean side, a minimum age of 6 years old is allowed to fly. Kids under the age of 6 years old are not allowed even as passengers on the boat.
